Let's just say she won't be laying fertile eggs anytime soon. There's an even older hen in charge right now but no squabbling, they all get along, the youngsters know their place.
It's good that they get along. We will reducing our old flock down, to replace our old ladies with new ones. Non of my hens, or pullets have spurs. I find females with spurs very neat looking.

Thank you!! I do sing to them, haha, (singer at church) but I haven't thought to sing her that song.

I know my chicks know their names cuz they answer me or look at me when I call them. Do y'all find that to be true?? Lol

Some beautiful hens/pullets here everyone!
Oh yes, my smart little darlings all know their names! I call call each one by name when I greet them in the morning, when I get home & when I tuck them in at night! They look at me, answer, beg for treats & sometimes sass me, too. One of my girls is named Maybelline and I played Chuck Berry singing her song for the whole coop one night. Every time he said her name, she looked over. So, yep, they're smart enough to know who they are! By the end of the song, she seemed more than mildly annoyed at having been called so often without getting any treats, so perhaps take some treats out for Georgia & the gang, lol.
