The 21 day wait

Just set 23 lavender orpington eggs and filled in the bator with my mutts golden comet/jersey giant mix. I ordered these back in December ordered 24 they sent 26 a few were broken but they made it good. I have one in there with scotch tape over a crack maybe it'll work out.

It sounds like your eggs weren't too badly damaged in shipping - lucky you! Wishing you a great hatch and lots of healthy babies!!

Candled the eggs today had 5 of the lavender eggs total that came out. 4 were clear and the one that was cracked and taped had the dreaded blood ring. There were a couple I wasn't 100% sure about so I left them in for candleing before lockdown. All of my mutt eggs showed signs of life.

Eggs were put in lockdown last night took out 2 more of the lavender eggs and 2 of my mutt eggs. I gotta say the air cells on my mutt eggs looked kinda small but the orpington eggs air cells looked fine. I got the humidity at 76 this morning when I left. I've always had a 60 to 65 humidity but figured I'd try something a little different this time. My last hatch I had several fully formed chicks never pip internally and the humidity was 65ish.

So far 4 of my mutt eggs have hatched. One of the lavender eggs has a pip since yesterday but none of those have done anything yet. Its still early in the hatching game.
