Razadila if you want to pay shipping I can send you some eggs in a week or two. My youngesters should be laying too by then.

I will add The medical thermometer may have been close to the heater element. My suggestion is to place a small bottle of water in the bator for a minimun of 30 minute to one hour. Then measure the water in the bottle with the medical thermometer. The temp of the eggs, or water in this case, does not swing like air temp

WOO-HOO I have 50 beautiful hatching eggs that arrived today from Papa's Poultry and TLS_Ranch in Northern CA. Despite being stuck for 2 and 3 days in the Charlotte NC post office all arrived in perfect condition. They are resting on my kitchen counter getting ready to jump into the bators. I am so excited. So I am in the Easter hatch-a long....ans my number is 50 eggs!

Oz, that is a fantastic idea! I'm gonna put 3 bottles in different spots and see what comes up! Thanks!

I am so ready to set some eggs. I collected all my eggs from my flock for the first time ever. I have 5 eggs on day 5 under my first time broody, and as of tonight I have 29 eggs collected for tomorrows set.

9 Japanese Bantams
11 Black Sexlinks (barred rock x BCM)
9 OE (green and blue egg laying EE x BCM)

I was not lucky enought to have my Marans pullets start laying yet, they are 23 weeks old today

Hi, I am chiming in here. I had a Brinsea that read way low and way high. I don't trust it at all. Sally Sunshine, here on BYC suggested and Accurite which I found on Amazon and at WalMart. I am neurotic so I have 2 therms with humidity in each bator. One bator has the turner with fan the other is still air ( I got extra eggs) . I am crazed as this batch is worth over $225.00. I will be holding my breath for 21 days.
