Thank you
Thank you!
I love to crochet and never have enough hand towels and they are never around when u need one. So having fun trying to solve my delima

Yes Miley is a macaw. He loves being outside. He talks to the chickens but they only listen they never talk back. He says Aflac to the ducks but they don't understand. Lol. Guess he watches too much tv! Lol
My daughter makes those too. My grandmother did too. The nurses and doctors at work buys than from her all the time.
hecalls it her cat fund. People drop cats at her house all the time. She takes the profit from these towels and neuter or spays the cats. Lower cost cat clinics are $25. per feral cat. Of course she made me a chicken one too..

This is my third spring of hobby hatching, but it is my first experience with a power failure. The storms across Alabama left us without power for almost three days. I managed on solar for a day, then switched to generator. But on the third day, the three bators went without power for three hours, and even though they were wrapped, they got down to about 83 degrees. Now it is hatching day for bator #1, and not a peep or pip. I'm not totally freaked out yet, but I can feel it coming.

Love It!!

I keep hearing about float testing the eggs. Can someone explain the process to me?? Cute chicks BTW!

Funny, I never really thought about the rooster size as opposed to the egg laying size. That's definitely worth a mental note, Thanks! This is for your eggs!!

I got my first LF Broody this week, and I can't say I'm thrilled! Egg collecting has gone from a pleasure to lethal in one weeks time, LOL!

This is the time when I pull up a chair, and pretty much sit by the incubator for 3 days. Eggs go into lockdown, Mom goes into lockdown.! I'm seriously considering my sanity in joining a hatch at Easter time when I have 4 kids, LOL! I can hear it now "Let's go hunt eggs Mom!" Me: " Just give me a few more minutes, I KNOW this chick will be out any minute now!!"

I am sure you will see something soon!

I hope so!

They will be fine, probably just late. I've said it a million times, but my bator was unplugged for an entire day, plugged it back in, they all hatched. Exactly one day late.

Also in Alabama.... Mine got down to 72F degrees for over 6 hours. Mine are due to hatch Saturday, but from what I saw when I candled, I expect them to start hatching maybe 2 days late.

How can you tell from candling that they may be two days late? Just curious. I'm new to chickens.

Thought a few of you may have experienced this with all the snow filled pics.
Lol this is exactly what's happened here. We actually had some gorgeous weather at the beginning of March and suddenly it's winter again. It's not too bad, though, because the days are still getting longer, so it's actually nicer than true Winter.

got pictures of the wild game hen today when I went to see the filly. Boy is she quick to disappear. See the hen behind horse.

She saw me and was off and running to hide her chicks

I love this photo; it's fantastic!

This was the road to the chickens on Sunday. It's normally a relatively busy road (a shortcut from the main road into the city), but as you can see, not many people were able to use it.

OK couple questions please! Sunday night was Day 14 so we did some candling. I took some pics but they're kind of hard to see. I knew from day 0 and day 7, 1 egg had a detached air cell and on day 7 another egg looked to have a blood ring, but being an inexperienced candler I left them both knowing they may still reattach if it wasn't a blood ring. Day 14 (this past Sunday) the 2 still have air cells moving around in them as I rotate the egg, and a 3rd egg seems awful light through it. The other 5 have beautiful air cells and the remainder of the egg is dark and filling up quickly. Should I go ahead and remove the 3 others? Also, on the one that I thought had a blood ring at first (and still may) that also has a detached air cell, it was kind of oblong and odd shaped. This one was sent as a hopeful extra I'm sure since I got more than I "won". On the sides of it, it is getting this little hard deposits that were not there before. it looks like a tiny bead of something about the size of a pin head and it's kind of brown. These were not there before it was perfectly smooth aside from the odd ridges. It started with just 1 now there's 2-3. What is this?
