Candled the last 11 eggs, three were clear. None of the others look hopeful, but I left them in the incubator anyway.

checking in for "aoberkotter" her lone egg hatched- he will go to live with my chicks once he is dried off so he doesn't get lonely. he is still pretty wet and ugly and he has HUGE feet! but he had a long hatch (had to be assisted since early yesterday since he was malpositioned)so you can't blame him for looking so pitiful
anyways her totals are:
5 set
4 clear
1 hatched

Okay so far it looks like only 37 out of 38 will fully hatch. Last egg was cheeping but not anymore. Still waiting on one little guy yo finish getting out of his egg.

Congrats to all the winners!

I have some great news! My appointment was today and they told me the results of the test and I DON'T have gestational diabetes!!!!! They said that I passed it with plenty of room to spare. It's such a relief to find out I don't have it.

Oh my god, I am SO angry right now. The seller who gave me 10 infertile eggs? She just denied my paypal claim by saying that I was lying.

Now I'm down 30 dollars. I'm seeing red. Nobody buy from Coups Coups on E-bay. Their lack of ethics is appalling.

I'm getting induced this thursday! crazy- still trying to wrap my head around it haha. getting pretty excited though, literally, sleeping at night is impossible, heartburn is 24/7. I know after she is born i won't be getting much sleep then either but at least I will have a cute baby to hold lol. congrats on passing the gestational diabetes test.

so I set 13 eggs, 7 hatched. 1 dosent look like she is going to make it, and another has weirdly splayed leggs. I am doing physical therapy with her. What can i say, I think I have finally cracked. I even brought her to work today.
I've done it too. Usually on curled toes and a littl ewith a splayed leg along with the cup method.

OK, guess I should go fill feeders.

aww, he does look tuckered. You will have to post a fluffy baby when he dries. :)

We set 30 eggs, 18 of which were gave to us bc they were found in a nest & didn't know how old they were. We only candled the day before lock down &all 18 were clear. The other 12 were all dark &we seen some movement, being our 2nd hatch I'm not very sure what to look for when candling. Out of the 12, 10 hatched on Friday, 1 pipped friday but never made it out & the other never pipped. We waited until saturday night to move the chicks to the brooder & check the other 2.eggs out. The one that pipped was already dead, looked fully developed tho? And the other one looked just a few days under developed based on the pics I looked at.

ADORABLE!! I have no idea on colors lol but I want a little black peeper! so cute!
Isn't he cute? My 4 year old son named him "Black Beak". I LOVE them all. Sad more didn't hatch, but I will try again and am grateful for the experience of seeing these little ones hatch. What a miracle.

This is what I ended up with after a sucessful weekend

They are all just so cute! Such little peepers. I have never seen a chick less than one week old before this hatch. We had gotten a couple a long time ago from the local feed store, but they already had feathers on their wings...I'm in chickie heaven to see all the cute little fuzz balls people are posting photos of here!

You are not a chick murder wolftracks! You had (as we all did) the Best of intentions...stuff just happens sometimes.
