OK, so I found out why one of my ducklings didn't hatch.. It quite confusing on how this happened. Never saw anything like it before.. Here are the pics I took.. If you have a weak stomach don't look.

As you can see the yolk is around it's neck and one of its legs was stuck there also. Weird right?!

I still have a lot still pipping, but I had a little photo shoot with some of the ones that hatched already!!!

Silkie or Silkie crossed with polish...dunno how to tell the difference...silkie newbie here





She has FIVE TOES on both feet!!! What does this mean??









Birth defect...three fused back toes...you can see the three fingernails.



She's yellow, but has black spots on her back and head...does this mean a specific type of Silkie and/or Silkie Polish?



Look at this chick's coloring! Like an EE almost

My best hatch EVER!!!
I locked down 30 eggs And 29 hatched I opened the other egg it was not fertile. All of my fertile eggs hatched!!!!!

My computer is zapped!! Ugh. Anyway - checking in from my phone.

20 shipped eggs went into lockdown. 12 hatched so far. 5 are pipped. Only THREE are not pipped. They are Marans. 1 was a suspected clear that I left in.

I have 6 Buff Brahma chicks so far...they were not due to hatch until tomorrow, but hatched last night. I have 15 more eggs that haven't even piped yet. Should I be concerned????? No noise or anything coming from the other eggs. This is only my second hatch, I did everything by the book as far as I can tell.

How long does it take to hard boil duck eggs?

I just did some today for my Easter eggs! I put them in a pot with tap water, then put the burner on high, and waited....until it boiled. Then I turned it down to low (no longer boiling) and let it sit for 12 minutes. After, I cooled them gradually with more tap water. And that was it! One of the eggs cracked so I peeled it to check how it I did, and it was perfect!
