do I see the sun!?! I think I do...I have a hatch going right now with 13 Silkies( started with 30 shipped) and 26 of my own. I set them on the 1st and have 9 pips so far. I have 11 LF the rest bantie. I couldn't really see in my green eggs so they went in anyway haha. The 15 Bantie mixes all looked ok maybe 1 or2 ? out of the silkies I only saw 3 move at last candle but put all 13 in. I should have some chickies in there soon.

Some of us can, and some of us can't. Our weather has turned into spring for the days. Still getting down close to freezing at night, but loving the 50's in the days, and will hit 60 a couple of days here soon. Spring has sprung..for now. But, having said that...our state is known to trick us. The blossoms on our cherry, apple, pear trees could be popping out, and along comes a snow storm and freeze. Hoping that doesn't happen this year..we didn't have any cherries last year, and the apples were sparse. Crossing fingers we stay warm through that time.

OK, this is not good, not good at all... The fan unit in the top of my main bator keeps coming loose from the screws. I am heating up the cooler bator right now, going to transfer the eggs before the unit falls and crushes an egg or a chick. I don't understand how this happened....this is a brand new unit that I just put in and the screws are stripped already?! Think I am going to try to add some glue to try to help hold it together. Must get it fixed before the main event!

I see that you have another bator, can't you just keep them in there instead of going back and forth?  Should be fine there...right? 

Yes, I have another bator. I just completed it the other day. I have all my eggs in there now and am not going to move them again unless it is to the broader. Lol I did get my main bator fixed so I should be good to go for the main hatch along. I am so happy that I made the other bator. I would have been in trouble if I didn't have another place to put my eggs.

Oh and I now have three chicks, check that, four chicks hatched. One just popped out of its egg in the bator. Lol I will post new pics soon. My first chick that hatched is still freaking out that it can't be with me all the time. Lol Guess I have a lil buddy...

We encourage the crows to visit-- keep a tree for their use. THe lesser of 2 evils.

It is sunny here also, but very windy. I just sold a dozen duck eggs for eating and it was not fun trying to hold on to my trucks steering wheel. Temp says it is 47· Out there but we have a wind chill factor also... Go away wind!
