Happy Sunday Morning All !

All 6 of my Spitzhauben hatched on days 20 and 21. Today is day 22 and I am still waiting on my 6 CL , 1 CL chick just hatched just as I was typing this(a roo) and 3 other CL eggs have been pipped since yesterday. One CL chick has died after it pipped

. I really hope the others hatch.

Edited to correct myself, The CL are on day 21. I set them a day after the Spitz and forgot, I just looked over my notes.

awe! I hope everything turns out ok! that color spitz did you hatch?

Cute picture, and thank you, Cynthia12! I've actually been on BYC for a while--it's how I've learned almost everything I know about chickens because when we started two years ago, we had them in our backyard in a historic downtown area--no one else to learn from! We've graduated and now we live on a farm with 5 acres, we bought a used Joel Salatin-type egg mobile to move around our pasture, and we are excited to be filling it! I now know I'll be hatching a dozen Welsummers and a dozen Olive Eggers (Ameraucana/Marans cross). So excited!

Thanks Ron!
I have 22 so far. :/ Probably gonna have to break out the Hovabator instead of the Brinsea.
That's quite a bit!! Are you selling them? The more the merrier I suppose. What are you hatching? I was hoping I could have a home-made incubator up and running before the hatch-a-long but I don't think that will happen. Oh well, my Mini Advanced will have to suffice. And since I wasn't able to get any eggs shipped in on time, it doesn't really matter anyway.
Yes, I sell Welsummers and Barnevelders. I'm going to be hatching Welsummers and Barnevelders of course! And some Icelandics, Cream Legbars (iffy on whether they are fertile) and maybe a couple of Marans. I'm most excited to get some offspring from my Barnevelder cock bird!
Very nice! :thumbsup. Barnies are high up on my wish list. Still hard to find tho. How big is your flock? Please post pics of the chicks when they hatch. :jumpy

I just got my hands on the most GORGEOUS hatchlings eggs I have ever had in my incubator. I'm setting tonight as I don't want to compromise the hatchlings rates by letting them sit until 29th so I'll have some early easter chickens this year (april 14/15 hatch). Hope I can still join you in the fun on this thread!

Here' sa photo of my eggs - most of them are mixed. They are from are wyandotte, isbar, araucanas, isbar and maran/araucana mix hens covered by araucana, isbar and cream legbar roosters. I also have some cream legbar and isbar purebreds in there, but I have no idea how to separate the chickens when they hatch.

The little zipper laundry bags, plastic fruit or veggie containers or even panty hose can be used to separate special eggs during hatch. Then colored zipties or even a dot of nail polish on top of the head works to mark chicks until they feather in.

Ill get some pics of the Spitz later today if I can find the right lighting. They are so cute.

Here is a few from this morning.
