@Wisher1000 I want you to know that I am officially using the "B" word! It has been over 48 hours and my girls is as grumpy and puffed up as ever. She has only been witnessed off the nest twice during that time period and when she does an excellent impression of a puffer fish.

She is a first timer so she is getting eggs from my CA Grey covered by either my Delaware or my New Hampshire. I know the NH mix will make a SL but want to check out the Del cross. Some Dorking eggs may sneak their way in but I want to see if those make SLs too so I am happy with whatever...now if only she hatches girls. Her mama has only hatched cockerels 5 for 5 and 3 for 3 in two clutches. I hatched this girl and she is the only remaining offspring of her daddy...the best rooster EVER! I am pretty excited.

I may have just bid on some eggs to add to my own for the Easter hatchalong...even though I don't need any other types of chickens...even though I've got plenty of chicks in the brooders...even though I had absolutely no reason whatsoever to buy eggs and don't need more chic....OOooo, look, EGGS!

4 day old Lavs images just for you @Gardeningmama
Great photos! :thumbsup

Well, Easter is coming up..............send the kids out on an Easter egg hunt.

Hmmmm....I wonder if that has anything to do with how the easter egg hunt started? Farm wives wanting to hatch eggs, sends the kiddos out on a hunt?

How did you ever get them to not poop on the lace?

So what is everyone using as incubators. I used the LG still air for quails. I like the brisnea just wish it could hold more than 7 eggs. I have 14, just added 4 from my no longer broody hen, all started last Wednesday. Don't want to add new eggs for hatch-a-long. ..thoughts??
I have a cabinet bator that can hold 200, a brinsea octagon 20, a styrobator and 3 broodies (4 if you count for the one sharing a nest lol)

I have two Redwoods with 624 egg capacity each and three hovabator style bators (42 egg capacity) and then also a janoel 48 (48 egg capacity) currently using the three hovabators for hatchers although I do have hatcher trays for the redwoods. I have a huge amount going right now with two styros full with lockdown eggs right now I am planning on firing up my second redwood for the easter hatch along will do the minor repairs it needs this week.
And I thought I had a lot! Need to show this to my hubby. Jealous on the two redwoods. I just want 1

SET ALL THE EGGS !!! Love that!
Here are pictures of my 4 call duck eggs. I couldn't risk holding them and the light and take a picture, they are so slippery... I have a bad cold and am shaky...So I just took pictures showing the air cells marked with pencil..

Wow, I think the seller shipped old eggs

It looks like Pheasants take 23 days to hatch?  Can someone confirm that for me before I add it to the Setting list?

My Amherst and Golden pheasants take 22 days...and there are a couple of species that take 29 :) 23- 28 would cover most everything....
If the Guineas were laying yet I would have put a few in:) Same with the peafowl....

Same here. Last year my guineas didn't start laying until early April. I've seen them lingering in nesting spots a bit, but no eggs yet. :fl

People really give chicks to kids for Easter? How have I gone my whole life not knowing that? I thought those marshmallow peeps were as far as that got. What a horrible idea!
Those Easter Chickens of assorted colors (dyed) is how I learned to love chickens, my mother bought it knowing I was too young to care for it properly so she accepted the responsibility but I learned to care for them watching Mom and Dad. How do we teach the next generation? I agree with several points on the poster about Easter chickens, but I would love for my grandchildren to learn how to properly care for pets.
