Quote: If your not planning on keeping your incubators, how much are you planning on selling them for? Although, I can't imagine having to give them up. I'm sorry.
Were your eggs from whole foods marked as fertile? If not, they were probably not given access to a Rooster...
You can PM me if interested and we can work something out on the incubators. Also the Whole Food eggs were marked fertile and they special ordered 1 for me that was only 1 week old. I went to Trader Joes first but they dont carry fertile eggs in Illinois market.

Beekissed,

This strangely reminds me of the eggs that I hatched in a warming tray 2-1/2 years ago. I only had one incubator at the time and it died 10 days into a hatch. We worked with what we could find to keep the eggs warm and ended up with 2 out of 9 eggs hatching.

Here's a link to the thread which details the experiment from the beginning....many ups and downs, learning and finally viable eggs and the method streamlined as much as I can get it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ral-nest-incubation-experiment-1-so-it-begins

It looks like it will be a pretty successful hatch this time if nothing major happens to the power source while I am away for a day, etc. Just a cardboard box, trash bag liner, soil, leaves, hay, eggs, meat thermometer, heating pad, water wiggler, and a some water in the soil before the experiment starts.

Here are her eggs that took 2nd place Black Copper Marans Eggs, 3 place over all eggs, and Champion People's Choice Eggs at the South Regional Marans Meet two weeks ago in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Gorgeous eggs!
8of the eggs I just set are almost that dark.... I was so impressed with the ones I bought. I want eggs that dark in my egg basket! I can hardly believe those only got SECOND places! Gosh, I hope at least one pullet hatches from those eggs I bought...

And we think chicks are so fragile.....those poor chicks fall, get tossed, fall again, get rolled, fall again, get packed into cramped trays and then shipped. Is it any wonder people get dead ones or those that die right after arriving? I'm just shocked that any survive the hatchery at all!
