The 5th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I have! Out of 60 eggs (57 plus 3 that were fractured that I tried to repair) only 8 don't have veining!!! And of those 8 are included the three I tried to repair, so I'm not counting those...which means only 5 eggs I can't see veining. Two of those five have spotted shells and I can't see crap in them, not even a dark shadow of a yolk, so they could very well be fertile, I just can't see!

If all of these hatch, I'm in trouble! My ecoglow only warms up 50 chicks!

That many chicks will generate their own heat.

You will be fine!

LOL that is AWESOME!!!! I hope I have good of ratio when I candle all of mine!!! I'm sure they'll all squeeze around each other just fine - I wouldn't worry ;-)

I just looked at a couple of mine, but I could only really see in one of the green ones... Are those veins near the light?

And I hate to sound really ignorant, especially after I've read so much, but the air sac should be a small circle at the big end, and the dark part should be on the side? Some of the ones I looked at seemed to float around some...

We have chickies!! I am loving the Cabinet Coolerbator!!! its rocking and getting orders out now!! YAY!!!
More to hatch, see more pips, looks like two are possible dead dont see any pippers : ( But I wont complain with this hatch for sure!! YAY!!

YES veins!!!! looking great!!

your seeing yolk move or the air cell ?(sorry sometimes ppl are confused) how much does it move? a loose or rolling end to end?

My breda fowl hatched yesterday, well three yesterday and one this morning (new one is still damp so he isn't in the photo). they are soooo cute! and very interactive- when i put my hand in the brooder they all race over to inspect it haha. now I just have one welsh harlequin duck egg, and 7 norwegian jaerhon eggs hatching this weekend and then nothing hatching until easter. that seems crazy lol usually I have something hatching at least once a week.

your  seeing yolk move or the air cell ?(sorry sometimes ppl are confused)  how much does it move? a loose or rolling end to end? 

The yolk, I think, moved around a little. Some of the air cells were kind of hard to see, too. And the yolk seems to have gotten so much bigger in all the ones I looked at today -- I don't know that all of them are fertilized, what happens to the yolk in the unfertilized eggs?
