Its been a few days since I've been on BYC because I've been really sick. Hows everything going?
hugh? again! aweeee I hope your better now!

Quote: UPDATE? images really help with assists!

Quote: I love BETH!! ha ha ha

So dear CayuseRanch said to SET ALL THE EGGS!

So I stuck as many into this little contraption as possible and then snapped a photo. (Thus the temp is down)

What do you think the chances are that any of them will actually hatch? I have to say, turning them is fun.... like juggling eggs actually! LOL

Someone needs a bigger bator!! ha ha ha that is too cute!

Quote: I know, I dont think we give them enough credit though! It just amazes me, and did anyone else pick up on how many inferts they pulled out! Seems they have fertility issues with these commercial types.

Oh NOOO! But you're right....no use worrying from the East Coast. I think I would just remind DH to check broody Momma each night to make sure she's in the right place, and remove any extra eggs. Personally, I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the broken egg, just clean it up as best you can and move on. Sometimes my broodys will leave an enormous broody poo close to the hatching eggs, (I remove as soon as I spot it), but it hasn't seemed to effect hatches....so a broken egg doesn't seem so bad to me.
Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I guess I will just leave it alone and hope for the best. :) I am going to candle when I get home. They will be on day 9 ( by the time I get to it...so exciting to think about!

Good morning!!! Yet again I held my cell phone flash light up to 5 or 6 eggs this morning (I don't even touch them or move them)... ALL had little babies growing and veining!!! SO amazing to see!! I can't wait to candle this weekend!!!

Has anyone else peeked???

Jbher: When did you set? I haven't peeked yet, but did manage to figure out that my very VERY poor hatch rates are most likely due to faulty thermometers (plural), now that I've dropped the temperature, I'm hoping for improved hatches, although I did manage to have my Easter HAL eggs at too high a temp for the first 3 days.

Sally, that video of the hatchery chicks being hatched was amazing! vaccinating for Bronchitis? Who knew...although I can't help but be sad for the male chicks, call me sentimental.

Another raining day in Southeastern PA... At least Bella likes the coolness. Wish we could send some of this precipitation to Utah or Arizona or SOMEONE who would appreciate it. The good news is that the bramble is starting to 'green up'. YAY
