I would go ahead and candle (carefully, Adding warm water to the incubator afterwards) because that will let you know if they are okay and if you need to help. Listen to the eggs and you may hear little chirpings. If you can see the membrane, make sure it is still white and not tan/grey/brown. If you see or hear activity and the membrane is still white, just sit right, they're taking their time.Still 3 hrs left on Day 21. I had one CL pullet hatch yesterday morning at 9:30 and another CL pullet and cockerel hatch this morning at 1:30. Those two made such a ruckus and played soccer with the other eggs that nothing remained in its place. They were 2 wet to take out and having the light on was attracting them towards me and create more disturbance. So I turned the lights off and went to bed. Woke up at 6 to find a bantam Chocolate Wyandotte hatch as well. He was still wet, but they started having a fit when they saw me, so I took them out, put the CLs in the brooder and the BCW on my tummy to dry for 2 hrs.
Now hoping that the soccer match hasn't killed the remaining chicks. They were all pipped when this happened and now they are on hr number 20 of the pip. I hope I won't have to help anyone! Very anxious! My wife will make fun of me but it feels like I am giving birth to these babies. Yesterday, she told me I was belittling her childbirth experiences.
Anyways its hr number 20 for the 3 bantam eggs that pipped. shall I wait another 4 hrs before intervening? I am hoping I won't have to just like the other 3! But I am really really worried about them because of being thrown around all night.
Promise will post some pics as soon as they wake up, all are resting right now.
Happy Thursday everyone!!! Good thing is the light at the end of the tunnel is the weekend coming![]()

Woot! Day 19 on my missing in action eggs..as I call them. I have two pips.
Silkie, one is the big white egg..didn't those birds laid such large eggs! And one is from a small brown egg. And they pipped in the right end! That white egg had quite a high air sac too..hope they make it the rest of the way. And more to come!
