Very well written and well said. I was very worried about chickens, as we're in a a suburban sort of area, though we have an acre or so our neighbors are a bit close on the sides. But once people realize they aren't loud and don't stink up the place they've been pretty intrigued by our ladies.

It's amazing to think only a hundred years or more ago, we heavily relied on chickens for their meat and eggs, but nowadays we have our every need met, thus eliminating the need for keeping any livestock. I realize times have changed, but the enjoyment and health benefits of raising backyard chicken outweighs any other!! I love my flock of three, and wouldn't change a thing!
