it moves fast!!! I just read the mot current posts.
I'm starting to save up eggs for next week's set date. I'm saving every blue egg for ameraucanas and blue egg laying mixes, every super dark egg for olive eggers, and every rhodebar egg for sex links lol. I may be setting a lot more than I expected to

All the best.

That's sounds awesome!! We will have the mixes too, we have an ameracauna roo and a buttercup roo with several different breeds of ladies! I'm excited to see what we might get!

jumbo? They are smaller than my rirs one week old
they look like Texas A&M coturnix quail to me. They really are small but larger than the original coturnix. From the looks of them I'd say they'll be mature in 2-3 weeks and you'll here their "crow" or see teeny eggs (had some for a while but I'm too much of a softy to cull them so sold them instead)

Not even a couple more? If there is a near-by farmer with a rooster you may be able to just get three or so eggs to try and hatch. :)

Bunch of enablers on this site :p I'm sure there's probably lots of farmers in the area! But sadly I think it's pretty firm :/ we have 8 right now and the current coop and run is too small so that alone is a project cause I'm hoping to build a new one this spring. It's just a coop kit from TSC in a 6x12 dog kennel. But maybe once I build the new coop I could add a couple more! But 8 is pretty manageable at the moment. I am getting my license soon though so once I do maybe I can drive off and sneak chicks or eggs home :p mine haven't even started laying yet so I don't wanna push it

We're doing the same thing! Hoping for a colorful egg basket next Easter if all goes well.
