So, I hatched these chicks out of my incubator exactally a month ago. And I am worried that they all are roosters. Can you guys give me your opinion?
1. BCM

2. SLW X RSL

3. BCM x EE

4. EE x Cuckoo Marans

The second one looks like a cockerel unless that is rose comb?

The BCM does not have pink wattles and the comb is not pink yet. Give that one more time. Marans have big straight combs so you really can go by the size.

The other two look like pullets.

Anyone familiar with this please chime in, Lady has a Hovabator Genisis 1588 w/egg turner, 3 yrs old. asking $100. Is this a good deal for it being 3 yrs old ?

A kit for a new Genesis 1588 is $250.00 so if it is in good shape, 100 is ok.

Hens combs don't tend to brighten until after 10 weeks of age, so most of your babes look like boys to me.

This looks just like the Premier1 Brooder plates, except for the color! We have several of those and LOVE them!

They work great for laying chicks, and for meat chicks too. I highly recommend them!! So much more natural for the chicks than having a light on 24/7!

I was going to say no, then I saw that it has a turner. Are you going to be there to pick up? If so, ask her to turn everything on to see if that turner is working too.
