Quote:
no they are sweetgrass but mama is very minimum colored. Will color up more as they age. I wanted midgets white but when I'd go see parents were big. It said on a site I was on to watch out for large midgets so I didn't buy their eggs. Love the sweetgrass their colors are so pretty
HOW PRETTY!!!!!!!

OK, I have to hatch turkeys again!
ME TOOOOOOO that kind is pretty, what was the other color we discussed?
Narragansett? We went over the list available from Porter Turkeys at one time. I like Bourbon Reds too.

Looks like Im having a great hatch in my dry hatcher. Ive added no water the entire time but its so humid here the windows have condensation. Ive removed 7 chicks so far, and the windows are so fogged I cant see but I hear a lot of thumping around and cheeping in there:)
The attic incubator though is not doing well at all. Only 2 hatched, not many pips in there. The temp has fluctuated throughout, humidity is at 55% because I had to add water, and then when tbe whole family was out today a window was compromised & the temp was down to 87. Lesson learned: dont use this incubator again! Fill the lucky dry hatcher and thats it!
Pic enclosed of the 7 removed from dry hatcher so far:)
Good for the dry hatcher. Sorry about the attic incubator.

We are READY! anticipation is at a high level for our Seniors and Staff

We set the eggs to hatch on Easter, because many families visit our Seniors on Easter and also get a chance to join our excitement in the new hatch. So happy to see the effect of such a small gesture. Best Wishes to all those hatching now.....Phil AKA. The Cottages.

I'm thinking this will be my next brooder.. Just need to figure out how to attach hardware cloth to it to

Our farm supply store has plastic netting in rolls of 25' and 50'; same look and size of squares as hardware cloth, but considerably cheaper and easier to work with. (Unless you have to keep housecats away from the chicks etc.

If it were me, I'd use plastic netting and hot glue it to the car. My staple gun broke when I was fastening the plastic netting to the 2x6s to separate the roosters and hens so I used hot glue to fasten it to the wood and to secure where the netting meets.
(don't laugh...TOO hard)

It's holding up surprising well! The plastic netting is on the left side of the roosters. The only thing holding the bottom and the mid seam is hot glue...lol.

(I have bought a new stapler again.)

You could hot glue hardware cloth too!
