The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

@Sally Sunshine. At the show yesterday we met a lady that came in from Michigan that breeds Icelandic and she is going to send me FREE eggs for the hatch along since she doesn't agree in people paying for shipping eggs... She wants me to start being the western breeder since she has people come from all over the country for hers....

Getting a few eggs outta these already!
Can't wait to hatch some Doms!

Quote: Sometimes mlmddh (Mike) sleeps, Mike added a current to post xxxx in the first post. Mike usually does these in batches of 100's, easy to keep track where he is. No need to PM mlmddh (Mike) about the list until eggs are actually set, and you think your total was missed. Mike thanks everyone in advance!

I'm just having fun, but there can be a delay maybe 24 hours, if things get busy at home. A day has passed feel free to pm mlmddh.

Thank You!
Mike? you sleep? coulda fooled me!

you have grown into a very smart young man Nathan, just reading your posts make me smile!

welcome!!
What kind do you like?

Well, I'm setting silkiess tomorrow I guess.    I'm waiting to hear that the road is clear to my friend's house to pick them up.
I'm looking for either dark brown or blue eggs, so CCL or Marans would be ideal :)

I'm setting a bunch of eggs tomorrow too! Cool!

It can be done (I have both)...but it can cause pains. But I have roosters of both too...so that makes it worse. Hens would probably not be as much of an issue.

I'd go into it more but I'm leaving for the day. Can maybe watch and mobile it.
( Although that usually gets me into trouble.:gig )

I had some a long time ago, I would probably keep them separate. I think I might have too many birds, that's one of the reasons I'm hesitating.
My bantam roosters had quite the personality :gig

You're asking the wrong people. You know everyone on here is going to tell you to do both!

I know :lau it actually does make me think about it more though if people are telling me to get them. But when I consider getting a new animal so far it almost always ends in me getting them. No matter how much I think it through, the pros outweigh the cons :p So I might set bantam eggs too for this H-A-L (along with quail eggs, chicken eggs and duck eggs if my ducks start laying:barnie )

If you're going to keep them separate...then I'd say go for it!!:thumbsup

I've got Silkies, OEGBs and misc bantam crosses...and they hold their own quite fine with the easy going Ees I've got. They're so personable.:love
Depending on the breed...I've found the bantam roosters can be more difficult...lol.
