The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

My peahens started laying early this year, so it looks like I will be setting some pea eggs!

Congrats!! Mine should start laying any day now too, they were laying at the end of February last year. I am obsessively checking their run to see if they have started. Obsessively, I do mean it. Same with my turkeysn pheasants and quail... both turkeys and quail should be laying by now and I have a turbulent series of emotion, starting from anticipation and ending with disappointment, at least 5 times a day. It is like an bad addiction, I know I should stop harassing them... but I can't seem to help myself!

Are your peahens displaying the about to lay an egg stance? You know, when they walk around all day with their tails up and ings dropped?

Cool, thanks. Did you install a little rain shield or anything?

We've got hecka-winds here at times, was thinking about what kind of add ons I would need to be able to keep this outside, but not have rain blow in sideways.
I used homer buckets with the screw on lid adapter. The cut out on the curved pipe will help. I do not have that and the water does not get into the bucket.

That sucks. I hope someone can send you some eggs. I know we have at LEAST one person that raises them, but I can't remember his name to tag him. Wish I could help you more.

drey does, but he isn't getting many eggs right now from them..if you are talking NN's?

So "show girls" is an actual breed ? I've been thinking it was good SOP chickens at a poultry show.

I like them with a lot of bow tie, those above don't have enough.

Here is a paint SG.. SG's are silkie mixes.

Here is one of my past favorite NN's.
