Congrats! They are so cute!

Good morning from Connecticut!

Awesome pictures! I love when you can actually see them hatching.

We had a fox problem for a bit. We'd go out in the morning and 1 or 2 of the girls would be torn to pieces. The third night the dogs started in and I let them out. Cornered a big fox out by the coop and snapped its neck. Brought it back to me like a gift. My dogs do a pretty good job Of protecting the chickens. They've killed raccoons opossum and now a fox when they get to close to the runs.

Yep, I got that. I've had a hen hatch chicks 8 feet off the ground. The hen doesn't take the chicks off the nest until a couple of days after the chicks hatch. (possibly longer if there are unhatched eggs)

Some obviously have luck moving broodies, but I have not. They always freak out and go back to the nest they chose. (or pace if they can't get out) This way was an easier solution for me. Plus, when you have 10 broodies, you can't always find a private spot for them to sit.

This hen was in a shavings bag on a shelf. You can see the roof above her head.

I have a hen that is in the hay loft right now. that means she's like fifteen feet up. I sure hope she doesn't try leading her chicks down from there!

Just got a call from post office. Eggs are ready for pick up. Wasn't expecting them this early but cant wait to go pick them up at the same time. First time trying shipped eggs so hopefully it will go smoothly.
