My girlfriend just called me on her lunch she's a nurse. Said what are you up to today. I said I'm in a bit of I bid war for exotic eggs. She says how much have you bid I said I'm top bid at 110 bucks. She says you get them honey get your eggs. WHAT is going on usually she would yell. I'm thinking she's cheating just kidding. She knows what this hobby means to me we just had a huge talk. I love her more then ever after she said that!!!

In the meantime, guess who just got the boyfriend's approval to build a new 12x6 coop in the yard with an attached run

Well I've gone and did it. I passed on the chicken bug. One of my husbands customers found out about my roosters and asked for some. 2 birds went to a new home with 30 beautiful ladies waiting for them. The guys wife has offered me first picks out of the eggs after fertile ones start coming to hatch and my husband just smiled and said ok. As long as I have at least 30-40 hens in the end I'm ok. Next he asked me what kinds of chicks the local feed store had in stock and told me to go look Monday morning

I'm so contagious.

Cree you and I must get together sometime face to face. I need someone who understands when I jump the gun and buy rare breed eggs because for some reason I found them at half the price they normally go for and may never get that chance again and I haven't finished building the extra coop and run.

time to get the wood for my next coop

my 16 babies are starting to feather nicely and need a new home. See. Emergency.

Hmmmmmmm, I could drive to Ala. and get the wood for the next coop I just talked my DH into today and then.....

IDK if I can talk him into a trip to Ala. too though. He's already been to Home Depot, Lowes and TSC today. That may be pushing it. I have a good husband.

You have to admire a woman who can turn a man from "only black ausrtralops" mentality to "oh they are pretty. Let's see what they have at the store" in less than a month. Then having HIM offer to build a new pin for the babies and asking if it's safe to add day olds with 10 day old chicks

Only about an hour. I'm right in the middle- 1 hour to KY and 1 hour to Ala. About 2 hr. to GA and 3 hr. to Miss. or Arkansas. I got the best of all worlds here. Lots of chickens nearby!
