Im reading if you put your eggs in wrong can you put them in up side down

Hi there :frow

That's correct, if setting your eggs in a turner they need to be set with the fat end up and pointy end down.

Welcome to the addiction ;)

I began working on two new coops (well, runs basically) today. One is a 30'x12' that I am using wood to build, and the other will be a 20'x20' using the good old chain link panels (that I have moved and arranged too many times to count!). Both will be covered... heavy duty netting on the wood, and likely chicken wire on the chain link. The chain link panels are also wrapped in chicken wire. Neither pen will have a full lock up type house, as the pens will be for peafowl and turkeys, but they both will have a large shelter area (100 sq ft or more) and nesting areas. I will be thrilled to have this project done!!

Welcome to the addiction ;)

Poor poor you. If your already hooked your husband will figure it out VERY soon

You know. The chicks running around a spare room or yard might be 1 tiny clue. When you remove the fan from 1 room because it chills the babies or block out a window to keep the sun from hitting the incubator directly to keep temp and humidity level might be another indication.

We will try again tomorrow on those.

I need positive thoughts to get any of them through Memphis intact!

On another note, did a spot check of the Brinsea Advanced that I've been calibrating every hatch. I am now in lockdown with this hatch. The temp was 97.4 by spot check and 99.1 by digital.

It recalibrated back into agreement with the spot check though and has held for 14 hours so far.

I'm thinking that one needs to take a trip to get recalibrated at the factory. Does anyone know the turn around time for Brinsea?
In the mean time, I'm doing a spot check every time I look at the eggs. I would break out the eco, but can't get to it without moving the brooder with the bigger little chicks in it.
