I gave in and candled. I have one clear and one with a bloodring. This leaves 10 eggs, BUT GUESS WHAT? The brinsea ecoglo bars that hold the egg in the turners suck. I guess they were put too tight against the eggs and it cracked one, leaving an inditation and a hairline crack. I candled and freaked out when i saw it was alive. I painted elmers glue over it all and covered it with thin paper towel and glued back over that. Cross your fingers for this little baby!

My eggs were shipped on Friday and arrived today. They all have moving air cells besides one. What do I do?

I filed a claim on the ones I got for this hatch along that were demolished. I got back $50.00 of the $78.00 they cost. I would never, ever, ever buy from or recommend that seller. There is a site "Bad Egg Good Egg" where you can rate sellers and product. IMO reputation is all a seller really has and a good reputation is based on under promising and over delivering or at least pretending to be concerned about their product. Integrity is important.

Hope your mom gets her money back.

Having a similar problem with a pullet that I purchased from a small chicken ranch; they sold me a sick one.

Thats insane , i guess the seller my mom went through has a no refund policy, so the seller claims she is going to send out a "fresh" batch again that the eggs got that bad in one day which im sorry i have a hard time believing but it is what it is i guess , ill check out that site for sure thanks

Hahaha that's awesome! What'd he bring home today? Well my DH2B has the bug too although not that badly. When our second silkie decided she wanted to join the hatch-a-long for sure on Monday I thought he would object but when I suggested just letting her sit on some dummy eggs until lockdown and give her some eggs from the incubator to hatch so we didn't have to have any more chicks he was like "Why don't we just give her some eggs?" Since then we've had at least two other ladies considering starting a family stealing eggs and sitting in the nest boxes for hours even after laying but then they get bored and get out. He even suggested that we clean out the other half of the building we're using as a coop and us it for the broodies lol I'm like, "Who are you and what have you done to my DH2B?"

Well i was all excited, my mom called me my quail eggs she order for me came in , i get over to her house and she tell me she had to open the box cause there was an odor , just about all 24 eggs are broken and rotten like over month old greenish grey rotten :hit they were not packed like sally sunshine posted they should be packed but i guess if they didnt break i wouldn't of known they were rotten i guess

But i do have a couple chicken eggs i can set , i know they wont hatch on the day but ill set them anyways

Oh ick! I'm so sorry I had a really bad experience last fall with shipped eggs. They weren't rotten but were old eggs and a lot were pullet egg, most were extremely porous, and or misshapen, or body check eggs. Not a one hatched. They were also very poorly packed and upon opening the clears nearly half the total eggs were infertile. Ugh some people should never be allowed to sell anything.

On a completely separate note today one of my oegb pullets Minnie my black went missing and after an hour long search that almost left me in dispair thinking she'd been grabbed by a hawk. I found her laying on 5 little eggs in a nest or dried grass and leaves on the floor. I had checked the garage twice and missed her both times. Thinking she was going broody I took her into the coop and put her and her eggs in a large cat crate hoping she would settle.
She didn't. After several hours I let her out and she jumped up and gave me loving(she's one of my favorites and a very very sweet little girl) before flashing outside. I followed looking for her but I already guessed where she as headed. I walkiled into the garage and found her in her nest laying on a beautiful new little egg... I'm fairly certain she had just layed it although I didn't want to disturb her any more by grabbing it. I'm sure it wasn't there before. She lovingly tucked it under her and layed down so I brought her back four of the other five as I discovered one was cracked(probably courtesy of the concrete) and she tucked all of them too. I left her laying there while thinking about moving her tonight if she was still setting.

Did I mention that I didn't know she was laying? These are probably some of her very first if not her first eggs. I realize they are probably not fertile or hatchable but I will check the cracked one later to be sure of fertility, it candled clear and the rest will be candled tonight.

I looked outside a moment ago and she is out in the yard so not committed yet. If she or another girl commits I will probably let them set on her eggs since her and Mickey(black oegb) are both from show quality parents and although I'm a novice they seem to have good type to me.

Was unable to find that site could you post a link or would that be considered cross posting? I would love to rate a couple of sellers I've bought eggs from one great and one terrible. Also would be nice to have in the future when buying.

So one of my Guinea would not go in the coop tonight. Waited till dark tried give it treats to persuade it. But no dice when I went to try to round him/her up. It jumped on a tree. So I had no choice but to lick up the coop and leave. Hopefully it does all right I'm gonna go out in a hour or so and see if it's trying to get in the coop. But all the other guys are tucked in safe. So if I can't get it in the coop. I prey it makes it. Plus I have chicks hatching one hatched and lots of pips. Exhausting day cleaned all the coops and runs. Scrubbed down the waters feeders. Fresh bedding and cleaned the 5 week olds brooder out and had some alone time with them with a cold beer. Got to love the start of spring coming!!
