I have to mess with my cooler-bator before I can trust it with eggs.
Hope my other eggs don't mind extra humidity for 3 days. For added fun, I just got runner duck eggs from @TJChickens. Wonky air cells, but 11/12 arrived intact. Check out this cloodge-

also got 1 more bantam from the crazy, egg murdering pullet I got rid of. (Traded for a silkie rooster to put in with my NN pullet after making and applying a no crow collar) It's so cute! The new one is the darker chick

21 eggs made it to lockdown. A lot of clears. Apparently, my new, younger rooster is a bit TOO young. My old boy moved back in until the little guy can mature a bit more. Surprisingly, they get along. Maybe Raphie will teach Regius a thing or two about what exactly he's expected to do XD

Anyway, I'm not sure how many I started with, but I can check back to where I posted. I've been removing clears along and along, but the 21 left are going strong!

MY DUCKS ARE HATCHING!!!!!!!!! Was gonna do lockdown tomorrow evening so I did my routine check of the bator and added a touch of water. Than I heard a cheep cheep. Upon closer inspection one of the Ancona had an external pip. Oh crap better raise the humidity and get that turner out as well. Did a quick candle of them and saw 2-3 internal pips on more ducks. e I'm gonna have ducklings soon e

I've tried to post a few times, but my computer hasn't wanted to cooperate. I lost my silkie chicks last week. My broody squished them. I know she didn't mean to. She's got some eggs from Blizzard's pen under her now.

Had friends visiting from Virginia over the weekend. I haven't seen them in 8 years, so it was great getting to see them. Unfortunately, the weekend was overshadowed by bad news. Blu lost his job because someone else blamed their screw up on him and they believed that person over Blu.

I still haven't had the chance to butcher and process Saint. Thankfully, he hasn't attacked again and my leg is healing.

My sinuses are so backed up I can hardly think. It started early this morning and only got worse. If I run another fever like I did today, Blu is going to make me go to the doctor to make sure I don't have a sinus infection.

I have more hens laying and I'm drowning in eggs. I can fill a bator in 4 days now. I'm pretty sure both of my BJG hens in Blizzard's pen are laying.I caught one of them coming off the nest a few times and found freshly laid eggs.

Personally I think she just didn't care

got them for the prank, thought of them as disposable and not living creatures. You see similar things when people drop their older dogs off at the shelter or even young animals out on the streets when they no longer want them. Sickening. I even heard of one case where someone dropped off I think a German Shepherd because she was "too old" and had a tumor/bump or something that was "gross." This was actually locally I think, saw the dog on Petfinder. And it turns out that the tumor was benign, think it was on the mammary gland, and it was easily treatable. They treated it. I think they may have wanted to put her down and the vet called a GSD rescue. Then I also heard of this case with a cocker spaniel where the owner dropped her off, I think she was like 16 too, or at least 12, and THAT SAME DAY, IMMEDIATELY AFTER HE DROPPED HER OFF AT THE SAME SHELTER, asked shelter to staff to show him the available puppies...... fortunately they said no. And a friend of mine witnessed somebody literally toss a cat out their window and drive off a couple months ago. Naturally, he couldn't just leave the cat there and went and picked him up. Him and his brother and family still have him. Sweetest cat ever. I've never actually met the cat cause he unfortunately lives in another state now but just from pictures and videos he shared he's so sweet. Like seriously, even minutes after getting home after rescuing him this cat was rubbing all over his face and everything. Not scared at all. Just instantly rubbing him and loving on him. And they lay together all the time. Sweetheart. I know orange cats are supposedly friendly to begin with but this cat is like especially sweet. I think he knows that Aaron saved him and appreciates it. He named him Smash Cat aka Smash haha not exactly sure the story on it. But I am so glad Aaron was there at that exact moment and that he was able to rescue him and then decided to keep him instead of taking him to a shelter or something. And honestly looking at them together, it's like this was meant to be, like they were meant to be together. So maybe in a way those people leaving Smash to die was the best thing that ever happened to him. But anyway, it is so sad to me and sickening how people can treat animals in this way

and to me an animal is family. They stay until their time's up. And I'd never just dump them for a new puppy

The sinuses are driving me nuts too!! But I dont have the fever, Hope ya get better soon
