The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

We've got a zipper! This one's ahead of the game.

4 more to go.. 2 are rocking and rolling for sure. It's a quarter past midnight here but I can't sleep, this is just too exciting!

Cheering on all the rest of the HAL chickies!

That's not a pure Faverolle, not heavy enough feathering on the legs. In fact, can't see any feathering on the legs at all. So the usual rules for sexing Salmon Faverolles are out the window.
it's only 1 1/2 weeks old. Feathering is not visible from that angle but the legs are feather-ridden.

Sorry about your roo :hugs
If he was "double barred" then all his babies should be barred, if he was "single barred" then half his babies should be barred. Barring is sex-linked dominant I think.:th Now I started talking genetics... gonna stop here before I get into too much detail and bore you lol
so what if you have a bantam cuckoo marans mom and Japanese bantam dad? One of my little bantams is black and bright yellow but noticed a spot on top like you see in a barred rock.

I have 3 pips! Now to go to bed and wake up tomorrow with 3 chicks? They were supposed to hatch on Saturday, what's the deal? My hatches are ALWAYS late. New 'bator is doing a good job!

Happy Hatching everyone!
