My one egg for EHA has a pip!!! Whohoo lol.

(I have 22 other hatched chickies from earlier hatches this month)

I feel so lucky to have the 1 egg I set specifically for this to have made it so far.

I can't quote everyone but congrats to everyone with pips and peeps so far!

Oh and the egg I'm hatching is an EE. Blk sex link x ameraucana . Should be interesting!!

Momentary panic!!!
Just checked my incubator and the set temp was at 101.5!??? And my thermometers read 102 and rising!!!

Humidity was thankfully at 70% so cracked the lid a bit while I figured out that the set temp was way higher than it should be lowered it and closed the lid.
Humidity didn't drop much a few % it's back up now and the temp is normal.

SO GLAD I checked it when I did. I was only like that for about 10 mins.

What would cause my hova bator 1588 to randomly spike the set temperature like that?

A 1588? Haven't heard of this happening before. I use it to incubate in. Take them out to hatch in another bator. Still air.

This was the best way to corral all 19 babies: 2 silkies, 1 showgirl, 2 CCL, 4 BBS Copper Marans, and the rest are various leghorn varieties. I am completely addicted!

Since my LG incubator killed 17 chicks this time, and 12 last time i'm on the market for a new one. Any recommendations for good incubators in the $100-200 range?

I have the Brinsea octagon 20 eco, I hand turn mine, but I just love my Brinsea, check out amazon.com for one, I got mine really at a good price. I tried a styerfoam bator when my brinsea was in for repairs, (I dropped it and the heat went out) and the hatch was really really bad, but anyway, to me the money is worth it for a Brinsea.
@chickadeeNSC I too love my brinsea, can't say enough about em.
