The absence of a rooster

We use to have 2 roosters (son and father) but recently had to find a new home for them. Now 4 of the hens seem to think I am the Big Kahuna and they squat often for me...they spread out their wings, squat, I put my hand on their back and give them a little shake, remove the hand, and then they shake and off they go. It is the funniest thing. Often they will come running up to me. Is this normal?

Just be glad one of your hens hasn't started acting like a rooster...UGH! One of mine did when I got rid of the boys...and let me tell you, a hen crowing is verrrrrry creepy.

Yep-- totally normal. they see you as the dominant "chicken" in their life.
