The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Star fire does your dogs attack the geese no?!
Chinese are excellent alarms so you are sorted there haha

I built a special dog pen behind my house a year before we ever got the chickens, ducks, and geese. My Belgian Malinois kept jumping over the fence, I swear he is part kangaroo, he can jump over a 5 foot fence easily. The Siberian Huskies kept climbing over. I got tired of chasing them down, so I built an escape proof dog pen, it has bricks sank into the ground to stop digging, and those things you see at airports and prisons holding barbed wire, on top to prevent jumping or climbing. It has worked very well to keep my 4 Siberians, 1 Belgian, and 1 rottwieller where they belong. But the chickens sometimes wonder right in front of the dog pen and all the dogs except the Rottie run and try to get them. The chickens, ducks, and geese have never gotten too close to the dog pen, they stay a few feet away, but the dogs always chase them when they see them.

Here is a picture of the top of my home made dog containment system.

Since 3 of the Siberians, and the Belgian are in dog agility, and are part of the agility demo team, they are very agile, smart, and fast. They have not gotten out, so I think I did a good job building their pen.
Here is Sasha with my youngest son, practicing the dog walk.

Huskys are by far the nicest looking dogs and need plenty of exercise.I love my dog and she was a puppy when i got her so it was very easy to train her since she was outside with the geese. When small i letter the geese be boss of her so she would never chase them.
Same with the chickens but my geese are mingled with the poultry.
We got my boxer dog when over a year and she chased them all the time but everytime. she did i gave her a smack and she learned her lesson and now the geese chased her off :)

Okay take a deep breath and thank goodness he sounds like he is okay. So take some salt and dissolve in warm water about 2 Tab' in 1 cup of water and wash out the wound real good. or spray the heck out of it with Veterycin if you have it. Just make sure to keep it as clean as you can and he sould be fine, and you can also put 2 Tab ACV to 1 gallon of water and let him wash his face and neck in this it has antibacterial proprieties.Keep them safe from this happening again. I know that had to scare the dickens out of you. Do you know who's dog? Animal control might should be called

Ty I will do that ASAP I raped it lightly in goze rap they are in the house with me now wet I live we have a big problem with people not keeping their animals in their yards my yard is fenced but Idk were it came from it took off right away I was so panicked I couldn't even say what it looked like I scooped him up an ran in the house after my husband got our other baby I have a feeling the puncher is all the way threw cuz it seems like when he drinks it gets wet should I let him eat??? I'm scared but if he wants to should I let him mayby his fave some watermelon

Should I let him eat?
I read about a goose that had a laceration on it's neck into the esophagus and it couldn't eat or drink so maybe your babe has a tiny hole but hopefully it will heal over quick. i can't tell you whether to let him eat since i'm not a vet, but if you decide to try it maybe make it a soupy mash so it goes down easier for a couple days. But if ever in doubt a vet is the way to go.
