Thought i might join this thread. I have 8 chinese geese. Trio of white, a pair of brown and their 3 goslings. Plus some brown x white goslings.

well Sissy our one-eyed gal is a Mom! That is the first gosling next to her. She has another under her wing, and one more hatching. We're so excited for her!

I'm about as new as you can get about geese, but I have done my research on them and no where have I found that Africans get up to 50lbs..

I'm pretty sure that the chinese don't have a dewlap, and the stand up straighter? The super african might get a little heavier, but not as much as 50lbs.

You're right. They stand up straighter almost in a snooty stance, like their swan goose ancestor. I have never seen or heard of a 50 lb. African. I have Brown and White Chinese, and there is a weight, size and carriage difference between them and the Africans. No dewlaps on the Chinese. Yup, yup, yup!

Here is our pair of Africans. We just got them and know very little about them other than possible origins and that they love sleeping on the wife's chest. Any info you guys can give that will help would be great.
