There might be another breed mixed in there.

I am sad to say that my geese r going to a new home due to some family issues and down sizing. :(

Sorry to hear. That has to be hard after raising them with the way they are so bondy and sweet.

I'm sorry to hear this but understand things happen. I hope this new home will be permanent so they can settle in quick. I know your going to miss them.

My gander used to be a menace when I went in the coop. He would run up to me,flog me,bite, and honk all the time. Over time I got him to stop bad behavior and even taught him a trick or two. But now he runs away every time I get near him or try to touch him. Sometimes,if I catch him,he screams. But then I pet him and he goes limp and quiet. The only time he approaches me is if I have grass. I've never hurt him or mistreated him. Am I doing something wrong?

Not very many geese want to be touched or petted. And boy they have attitude mine do anyway my big Embden. he is so protective even now with breeding season over and his 2 goslings are over a year old now, typical gander behavior. They take their responsibility serious lol When I take hold of my gander he goes limp too and looks like he has died. They are so funny. It's a good thing you have taught him not to attack though they need to know this.

One of my babies, the smallest one-Gobo, decided that I'm pretty cool yesterday. It let me pet it while I was sitting on the ground with them. Not just let me, but really seemed to enjoy it, and when another one of the little geese called to it, it only looked over to the other one then went back to cuddling with my hand. So SWEET.
The other two will come over when I pat the grass and let me touch them just a little. A little light scratching on the breast, or tickle under the chin.
And they now LOVE to see me come to their small brooder pen and look up at me and squeak... all ready to be lifted out.

Also, I bought them a little swimming pool yesterday... Because I was at Rural King and it was on sale for like $6. How could I not!
^If you have a Rural King in your area and need any little ducky pools, great price.

They sound so sweet. Be sure to make a way in and out for your gosling when you start letting them have pool time.

My goose does not talk to me anymore. He used to speak when he saw me, but now he doesn't ever honk or say anything. I'm worried something's wrong with him. And he runs away from me. Did we imprint wrong? He doesn't seem to have a strong bond with me, even though I go see him almost every day.
