I have to say i am really disappointed my chicken coop did not place in the contest. I was sure it would make the top 3. Guess i should have bribed the judges...

I fell asleep early, now wide awake. Ordered thermal underwear, i am thinking i will need them.

They dispatch rodents humanely (for rat/mouse and human+ animals at risk from eating poison or poisoned rodents).
This model is not so good as after a few kills the batteries die. The new model is much better. There is also a version that will do multiple kills, resetting itself after each (apparently).

Here i am again, wide awake! I installed a roll of insulation in the wall of the workshop today. Would have done more but my fingers were going numb.
I caved in and put a heat lamp in with the chickens tonight. I couldn't stand to see the sick ones cold.

I’ve been lucky that my birds are dealing well with the cold. It’s amazing, but true! Even my bantams are okay. I admit that I was hoping they would need to come inside.

It is not usually this cold here. I guess it is supposed to warm up a bit in the morning!

Messy weather over the next two weeks, but only three days below freezing. I’ll take the mess since it means it’s a lot warmer!! I won’t need to water much since there are several dishes that froze to the ground before I got to them.

When i was on the way to town they were spraying the roads with what i suspect is brine. So they must be expecting icy conditions.
I got Charlie a new Christmas outfit!
