The anticipation may kill me

Looks good to me. I usually just do room temperature water for the chicks. Once they have their needs met they should calm down. Although I have a screamer here in the brooder next to my bed. Hopefully, they will be up to going out to the shop tomorrow.

well I know about that anticipation. I ordered from Hoover Hatchery, and recieved dead birds ,
TWICE. They do not include extra packing peanuts or cardboard liner for heat.

Today I received my LIVE order from Ideal Poultry. All alive and well.
Got a lot of packing peanuts, but, Oh well, they taste like chicken...LOL
Ordered six silkies, 2 Salmon Faverolles and 1 EE.

Funny on me.:clap I count my chicks out of the shipping box. sitting there showing them the water. Generally just looking to see who's who. I hear an odd peep. Look behind me. There, in the empty box is one lonely little fella! Must of been hiding behind a flap of cardboard. He was happy to see his buddies in the brooder.:wee

He was shy and hid and then when his friends were gone he was lonely

Here they are after their first night at home. They found their water and food without problem and are quite content now. They sure make a mess. I'll change to a couple inches of pine shavings tomorrow which will be easier to manage.

They are now 9 days old and their little tails are beginning to grow. It looks like one of the girls might actually be a boy, the one drinking. It looks much like the known boy with the black mark on his head, its wings are short and not developing as fast as the girls, no tail feathers showing yet either. Anyone agrees?
I will continue to take pictures every week or two to document their progress.
