"I thought so too," Hilina replied and looked up a little. "I don't know if I believe that he's dangerous, but he's supposedly the one who paralyzed my father."

Hilina smiled an awkward smile that didn't last long. "If my father dies-" Hilina paused. She looked back down at the ground. "Álfr will kill Ted. I've heard her looking to gather us together to hunt for him."

King stared at the water, unsure of what to say. “I’m sure he’ll be ok”, he said, after a little while

Hilina nodded, but for Ted's safety, she hoped not. Then she decided to tell King something that she figured he knew nothing about. "Have you seen your friend, Jock, lately?" She asked to see if he had noticed that Jock never seemed to be around anymore.

"Rumor has it that Jock is going to leave the Pack." Hilina replied with concern in her tone. "Because he's so thin and now frail from losing his mate, he'll never be able to survive as a Loner."
