"Thanks," Baxter whispered, "ok, but be quick. I think he's coming."

Alexander found the pups' scent and started following it.

"Uh," Baxter didn't want to reply. He looked out and saw his father approaching. "Uh, oh." He whispered quietly.

Alexander kept his nose close to the ground. He could tell he was really close to the pups now. He stopped in front of the bush they was hiding in. Without even seeing them, he said,"Baxter. I know you're here. Come out where I can see you." He said sternly.

Rusty stopped himself from whimpering and managed to stay silent. He glanced at Baxter to see what he'd do.

Baxter froze. He didn't move.

"If you don't come out, I will find you." Alexander spoke up. He started sniffing the ground again.
