Hilina followed the slightly familiar smell. The scent started getting stronger as she went along. She could tell she was getting close to whoever the wolf was. Hilina stopped by some bushes and looked to the other side. There was a wolf laying on the ground chewing on the bottom half of his back leg.
The wolf looked familiar, even though Hilina wasn't quite sure who it was. She came into view and said, "Hello." The wolf quickly rushed to his feet and raised his hackles in fear. That startled Hilina. She gasped and stepped back. "I'm sorry," she quickly said, "I didn't mean to scare you. I don't mean any harm." She hoped the other wolf believed her, then she noticed the spot he was chewing looked rather bad and was bleeding a little.
The other wolf sniffed the air in Hilina's direction a little. Hilina's scent was familiar to him, so he believed her. "Where is your mate, King?" He asked recognizing her. "King?" Hilina asked sorta surprised. "I don't know. Uh, I forgot your name..." She said slowly a little embarrassed at her forgetfulness when the other wolf wasn't so forgetful.
"Ted," the other wolf reminded her. That name rang a bell to Hilina. She instantly remembered who the wolf was. "Oh! Ted! I know who you are again!" She exclaimed excitedly. She looked at his leg again. "Are you ok?" She asked a little worried. "Yeah." Ted replied sounding confused. "Are you?" He asked thinking that Hilina asked that as 'small talk', not because of his leg that he had previously been chewing on.
"I'm ok," Hilina replied, "but your leg. It appears to be bleeding a little." Ted didn't even look back at it. He just kept his eyes on Hilina even though she didn't notice. "It's fine." He replied. Finally taking his eyes off of Hilina with decision that she meant no harm, Ted turned to walk away. Hilina wasn't ready for him to leave yet, so she decided to follow him.
