Jock contuied howling. Each howl became more and more sorrowful.

Using his front paws, Blazer dragged his back end towards Jock's den. He quickly got exhausted, but he knew he should keep going.

“You’ll never be able to keep me in it,” Chandi said.

Álfr entered his den slowly, she saw Ade and immediately felt a similar sorrow, Ade had been a good grandmotherly figure around the pack to the pups. She joined Jock’s howl with her own, letting the pack know they’d lost one of their own. Her howl was more musical than Jock’s but served a similar purpose.
Whip, hearing her mothers howl join the other stopped covering her ears and tried to join with her little pup howl.

“I uh..I think so..?” Uhtred said, confused. He heard howling and pricked his ears listening for who it was, he heard that it was sorrowful and heard Álfr in the mix and didn’t know the story behind it so his mind immediately went to Blazer. His ears went down and he whined slightly, he knew this would only mean trouble for that pack if it was what he thought it was.
 
Ashera trotted through the woods, she might as well be a loner at this point with how long she’d been out here. She loved the sound of the forest. She stopped abruptly when she heard the howling, tears came to her eyes it was so sad. She didn’t know who it was but she knew someone had passed. She tilted her head back and joined the howl.

Orchid had followed Álfr to Jock’s den and joined in their howl, stopping briefly when he heard Ashera.
