She glanced up expecting to see Baxter with the rabbit but he was standing there looking shocked. She sighed and shook her head “what happened? Did the rabbit scream at you to let it go?” She asked sarcastically.
She was surprised when Dexter didn’t snap at her or bite her because most wolves would have, she glanced at him her head slightly angled, curiosity scrawled on her face
"Y-yeah, it screamed." Baxter replied slowly. His excitement had left and now he trembled inside. He swallowed to try to calm himself. "Ah, thank you for your help." He tried to smile a little, but he was upset that the rabbit got away and was confused about it screaming.

Dexter looked in the direction that the rabbit had gone. "Dad says they scream when they're hurt." He said to Baxter. "It might not have gone far." Dexter didn't want to go chase down a rabbit, but he didn't want to be around the other pup, so he figured it would be a good way to get away with Baxter.

“If you want I’ll help you look” she offered trotting over to them, she grinned “I promise we will find it”

Baxter got excited again. "Ok! Yay! Thank you!" He trotted over to Dexter who had began to lead the way.

Dexter sniffed the ground remembering how his father taught him to hunt. "Oh no." He thought as he deeply sighed when he realized that his plan didn't work. "We don't look." He grumbled to Jezza to correct her, "we track."

“No worries” she trotted up until she was next to Dexter, “tracking? Yeah I know how to do that. But you should also look for cues, such as this” her keen eyesight picked up the broken twig with a smear of blood on it. She smiled at him slightly proud of herself

Dexter raised his hackles again, but didn't grawl. "Sight isn't what is going to work here. It's scent." He told her with a strong belief in what he was saying.

Baxter wagged his tail and followed along. "Wow, that's cool!" Baxter said seeing what Jezza had pointed out.

“Sight does work here” she argued, with an equally strong belief in what she was saying.
She grinned proudly

Dexter shoved his nose closer to the ground and followed the scent trail. "Sight doesn't tell you where the rabbit is. Scent will." He agrued.

Baxter followed excitedly. "Maybe she's right, Dexter?" He asked.

“I am right” she agreed with Baxter “sight shows you
Dexter picked up his pace getting angry. He sniffed the scent hard following it well. "She's not Baxter. Dad taught me to always use my nose, not my eyes." He told Baxter trying not to sound angry, though he was- at Jezza.

Baxter tilted his head.
