Dexter smiled a little and nodded. He backed up to leave.

Dexter returned to his father and brother. Alexander smiled when he saw that Dexter returned without the rabbit leg. "Hilina said to say 'thank you.'" Dexter told Alexander. Alexander nodded. He put his head close to Dexter and said, "Just something to keep in mind, Jezza is the Alpha male's granddaughter. Even though she's a pup who hasn't gotten a rank yet, you should always be respectful to her." Dexter tilted his head and remembered how rude she was at first, and wondered if that was why she was rude. Alexander added, "Even if she someday gets a low rank, we want to look good on our part just in case anything gets back to the Alphas."

Baxter listened carefully as he wagged his tail. Then he looked at the rabbit hungrily. "You two can eat that now," Alexander told his pups. "See if your sister, Nutmeg, wants some too. I have to go see the Alphas now. Perhaps I'll share with them what a great hunter their granddaughter is."

Jezza yawned and stretched still feeling content with her hunt yesterday. “I’m gonna see if I can catch something again!” She called to her mother as she dashed into the woods eager to find a rabbit or two for herself

Alexander lead the way as Dexter followed. Baxter was out somewhere with his sister Nutmeg (@Little Baby Bean) and his friend, Rusty. Alexander stopped and put out his paw to stop Dexter. "It's right by here," he told his son.
