I have 3 beautiful black swedish drakes. They are almost 1 yr old. They have been best friends since hatching together until now. The two bigger ones are bullying the smallest one. They gang up on him and bite him. Is this normal? Hormonal? Should I separate them?

Three of my first four runner ducklings grew up to be drakes, and they were also best friends for about the first year. Then, hormones kicked in, and there were some squabbles -- although nothing serious.

Eventually, I got more ducks and made sure that all the newbies were GIRLS. That worked for me. Otherwise, I don't know. Good luck with a solution.

I MIGHT separate the bullied boy because I'm a big softie and can't stand to see any discord among any of my critters.
