This was such a great thread to read! I was thinking about doing the exact same thing next year, but with 50 roosters so this was so helpful. I was thinking I would beg Meyer for as many Black Australorps (BA) as possible and order 4-6 BA pullet-chicks to round out the order. I am thinking about getting a setup where I keep or give away future hatched pullets and eat the cockerels. Try to breed for size maybe?
