OK I posted a question about getting rid of mice in my house - and got some very good advice - to remind ya this is the problem - the mice are getting into my birds cage eating her food and scaring the heck out of me when I turn on the light in the morning to get my coffee !

This is what we have done -- taken the food out the birds cages, placed the snappy traps where I think they will do most good , sealed up any holes I have found, DH also got some of those glue boards.

So far we have gotten 5-6 mice on the glue boards, and I did manage to get one huge boxer shaped one with the snappy traps LOL ( my Abbey is a total nut job and was sniffing around the trap and it got her lip!! )

the only problem with the glue traps is the mice dont die right away and suffer so much that as soon as I hear one I take it outside ( please dont get mad ) but I hit it on the head to kill it fast so they dont need to suffer, DH thinks I am crazy but I do feel bad for them.

Glue traps will make them suffer. If I were in your shoes, I'd do the same thing as you. Though I wouldn't hit them in the head, I'd use a pellet rifle.

That said, sounds like you are doing what you can. Something that we do is we hang the food from the ceiling. That way it isn't on the floor for the rodents to climb into. Unfortunately, the broody hen's baby has trouble eating [IMG]

Hmm, wait, you have a bird cage in your house? Yea, I'd still try and suspend it. Mmmm, a cat? Mmmm...

Yea, that's about all I can think of. Keep at it!

You could also try a mouse zapper...I love mine...They're like 20 bucks at WallyWorld.
The only thing I ever caught on the glue traps was Obelisk...bikbikthump bikbik thump...oy...
