While the rest of the crew rested in the cabin, Khashana and Pala were left at the cockpit controls. The airway was smooth out in space; any signs of turbulence non-existent for the time being. The Asterians were gradually slowing down for the night, or rather, what would be night on their part of the planet. Soon enough, Khashana directed Pala to let go of the controls while she turned off the engines, allowing their spacecraft to lightly float in place with the help of braking technology. "That should be it, then," said the captain as she looked to her co-pilot. "You may go now. I have a bit of business to tend to in my own quarters for the night. I'll let you know if I need you all in any sort of way."
"Yes ma'am." And with that, he left to be with the rest of the general crew. The cabin was quite palace-like, the floor coated with carefully crafted red carpeting, centered with an exotic animal rug, most likely from a completely different planet than the Asterian's own. Rich curtains of scarlet covered the ship's windows, as well as an area in the back of the fuselage where the beds happened to lie. There were lavishly carved tables and plush black seats, some together, and some seperate. On one of the tables was a radio, in which the crew could listen to stations and contact other ships. Attatched to the corner of the back bulkhead was a television, broadcasting channels from the closest planets it could reach. Not to mention, a warm moodlighting was lit to adjust the crew's eyes and make them feel much more comfortable.
The captain's quarters were just the same textile-wise, although in a cozier section above the cockpit. There was only one table, as well as two chairs and a bookshelf. A radio was placed right on the table and there was a large television built into the wall. Behind two partially opened curtains was a large circular bed. Khashana slowly eased herself into a chair, and tuned into the radio, attempting to contact the Drex. Ever since they emerged the Asterians had wanted to become allies with them, although never given the chance to. After recieving special instructions from her own boss back on the home planet's base, she agreed to attempt contact with the Drex.
"Hello?" she began, her voice barely coming in through their side once she found a small connection. "These are the Astarayonts, I am Captain Khashana Kil'taik, ve come en peace. Ofar."
