He growled and waited. Just as he had perhaps gotten away with allot back at camp, she was pushing things, and he was getting tired of it.
The two came out and met with him to tae the shuttle back. He received the same attitude from the locals as he had the day before.
He didn't bother with many pleasantries this time but occasionally glanced over in Calliope's direction.
Calliope has having trouble with the looks too. She tried to walk where her mother told her to but she finally had to huddle. Some of the stallions started glaring more intently now. Which made Calliope more nervous. "Lolli I told you that you can't do that you have to huddle with him or walk on your own." Hellaina stopped and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Sorry.. it just reminds my of things I don't like... then it makes me think someone is going to grab me and take me away again." She stared crying.
"Be strong you cannot make a scene until they are used to Festus being here.... if you want the looks to stop.. you walk willingly with him.. he is your protector now."
Security showed up keeping a distance then his ticket beeped.
One started reading his comm while the other kept watch.
Calliope did not want to give in to this notion. "Once he gets you he will change... I don't rust any of them." She whispered.
"Let him protect you.. walk between us." She whispered back. "Hold my hand and be brave or it will cause trouble, you said you'd try to trust him."
She held her others hand then nervously walked between them. She stared up at Festus for a while.
Can I really trust you? Will you truly not let anyone hurt me? Hellaina didn't want to move until she stopped cowering.
