"Wes... but I miss Mamma and Duddy." He sat up looking around as if he wasn't sure where he was then he got up.

The stallion took his colt and thanked Lana.

"Are you sure you will be okay with him.. I mean you just got back... you need some time to grieve sir." Lana was concerned.

"I just need to hold him....... " He walked out with his colt.

Lana started crying feeling terrible for him.


The stallion carried his foal he had never met before and walked towards town. He found a shady spot and let the foal toddle along in the grass. The he started weeping about his wife.

"You are very handsome... I um I like you a lot." She had a dry lump in her throat and fumbled for a cup sticking it under the milk fountain in the center of the table.

The stallion took out the bottle and snacks that Lana gave him after he had a good cry then he held his son and fed him. "You look like her... you really do." He kissed the colt.

Ferris felt rocks inside. "Where are your mares no Braxton?"

Kaliska blushed deeply. "A little... but only what Leandra taught me.." she shrugged.

Jesslyn nodded quickly. "Yes, of course." she said, then went back to eating. Max looked at Thrain and Jesslyn, then at Emily, and kept eating. Emily spread butter on her roll and then cleared her throat. "So, Jess, I plan to volunteer at the foster home.. and Thrain thinks it would be a good idea if you could help." she smiled, and looked at her granddaughter. "Would you like to?" she asked. Jesslyn looked up from her food at her grandmother, then at Thrain, and then down again. The idea didn't really thrill her. She shrugged and replied, "Sure, I guess so."
"Is Leandra a friend?" Melanie smiled. "One that you remember?"

"Ah.. well we know that in you somewhere you already raised children. It should come easier to you.... Not your baby will look like an elf. That is normal, we get our light pattern at the age of 5. So don;t think you did anything wrong. But if that baby is born with one.. it means that baby is very special." She smiled.

The farmers daughter was out feeding the pigs. She was stunningly beautiful with a cream coat and golden brown flowing hair that ran down to her knees. Ferris was instantly star struck. He had seen her in town once before, but she was much younger then. He stood there staring with his mouth gaping open.

Braxton didn't notice, and kept walking. He waved to the farmer, who was his friend, and trotted up to him. "Hello Chester!" he said, shaking his hand. Chester grinned. "Good to see you again Braxton." Chester had a rich, dark golden coat like his daughter, with bleached red hair. "Come to see the animals?" he asked. Braxton glanced over at Ferris, and gave him a hard elbow to the gut. "Yep. We're looking for breeding meat stock." he told him. Chester nodded. "I got just what you're lookin' for. Follow me." he walked over to the pen his daughter was feeding and motioned to the pigs inside. "These are guinea hogs. Short, compact, hardy pigs with a friendly attitude. Good tasting meat too." he gave his daughter a look, telling her to introduce herself.

Emily smiled. "Jesslyn is one of the best cooks I know. She always comes up with delicious meals." she smiled at her granddaughter. Jesslyn only blushed. Max snorted. "A stallion could get fat on her food." he joked.
Melanie smiled. "We all secretly hope to have on. BUt it s a throw back. And the baby has very strong light. They get deemed qualified as a Dukesline. So the baby would be a Duchess or Duke, and maybe even marry into the Royaline. Did you know that We have one female Shandor.. and she was born one of these? Only because she was a Shandor she was forbidden to marry.. Due to complicated history. But is is possible." Melanie smiled.

"Im u h Ferris." He nodded then he shook his head and looked at the pigs he asked Chester. "How long to they gestate for Chester? And how many to a litter?"

Lexus hung the bucket then exited the pen.

Thrain chuckled. "Well I would have to be careful . I am fond of my girlish figure... but it does eat a lot I admit." He glanced at Jesslyn before going back to his food.

Iila watched them a little, a tear fell down her cheek,  then she disappeared down the hall. She listened for quiet rooms then would try and pen the door. Most seemed locked.  She found on that was unlocked and very carefully opened it enough to peek.
