"Whoa," Riku said, "what happened?"

"I don't know," Nakiso responded, "but this entire facility is completely shut down. Here... I might be able to..." He pulled out a small device. He spoke into it, "Scan for sapient lifeforms within a 10 mile radius." After about 10 seconds of the device whirring and shaking, a feminine tone spoke from the device.

"Only 4 sapient lifeforms within a 10 mile radius."

"But that's just the 4 of us! What about everyone inside the facility?" Riku exclaimed.

Nakiso's eyes widened. "There... there isn't anyone inside the facility... at least not alive. We need to find out what happened... quickly," he said, with a hint of urgency to his voice.
"Then what're we standing around for?! Come on!" She moved to the door, putting a hand on the doorknob. It made a small zing noise, and Si'ralle yelped, snatching her hand away as if it burned her.

Shandrack sat quietly in the bunker. Their food supply was almost out. She thought back to how they ended up in this mess in the first place.

"I don't think they are coming Captain." Crut was growing impatient. They had been waiting for 3 days for Tracker.

She huffed. "That bad feeling has been so strong, I can't ignore it anymore."

"What do you suppose to do about it?"

"Jump to that star over there." She pointed in front of them. It was outside of sensor range and well into the Neutral zone.

Crut had nearly had his fill, but couldn't argue with his Captain let alone the future Queen. "Aye."

Shandrack was startled out of her thought by the two men trying to boost the beacons power. If no one found them they would die in roughly a week maybe a few days more.
She played with her ring and drifted back off.

"Well you are onto something." Crut smirked. "I am reading a faint distress signal... its signature seems to be from a neutral source but it's too garbled to make out."

"Follow it a ways." She ordered. "Try to find out the trajectory."

Crut fine tuned the sensors and they slowly followed the signal, it led very close to the star, which began to scramble their sensors. "I think we should stop. It may be a pirates lure."

Shandrack closed her eyes and took a few deep slow breaths. "Just a minute more- try to find something."

Crut moved the ship a few more yards then a great swirling vortex opened before their ship and sucked it in. The ship rattled and shifted as it was pulled along.

"It's a worm hole Captain!" Crut was flung to the floor, but he quickly regained to steer the ship.

Before them it opened to a fiery inferno. "Evasive maneuvers." Shandrack shielded her eyes. It was a very bright pulsar, located near the Gigercats Home-system. The ship turned to avoid the reaching flares. They dodged in and out and were finaly clear of the radiation belt.

"Well that's a new and unexpected discovery." Crut sighed in relief.

"Don't sigh too soon!" Shandrack ran to the weapons panel. "Get us out of here!"

Four large Drex ships were on an intercept course. It was a wild firefight as they fled. The Gingercat system was nearest by, perhaps they could find protection there... had they paid heed to the distress signal they would have done otherwise. They were quickly forced to the surface by enemy ships upon arrival.

"Got it!" Crut sat back. "It's up to 50% more output Cap."

"Then what're we standing around for?! Come on!" She moved to the door, putting a hand on the doorknob. It made a small zing noise, and Si'ralle yelped, snatching her hand away as if it burned her.

"Are you alright?" Riku asked her.

She shook her hand, which stung a little. "Y-yeah..." She looked at the door for a minute. "That door. It's trimmed with several thousand volts of electricity..."

They stopped alongside the smaller Terrellian cruiser. It had lazer burns along one entire side of the hull. The shields were, however, up. Life support appeared to be intact.

Tracker was pacing around like a caged animal.

"Here... I might be able to open it," he replied, holding his right hand out and surprisingly all the electricity in the door neutralized. Pressing his thumb against the fingerprint reader, all he got was an annoying denial chime. "Great, the quarantine has blocked off the fingerprint scanners too." He muttered.

"Then try breaking it open." Si'ralle shrugged.

There had to be a lever on the other side of the door... somewhere. Nakiso used his mind to attempt to turn it, and after several seconds, it worked. Riku and Nakiso began walking in.
