After spending several hours looking at the great pic's of coops on this website and reading many posts me and my husband Steven have FINALLY started the construction of our chicken coop! We are using all recycled materials (of course we did have to buy the paint and hardware), but other than that we have been luck enough "so far" to have found some really cool stuff that people had thrown away. So here are some pic's of what we have so far, please check it out and let me know if y'all have any questions, comments and/or ideas, suggestions. My mind is full of so many ideas I just can wait to see what it is going to look like when we finish!

Of course, I had to pick out the colors!

We found this old play set that someone threw away and Steven said it would make a good starting point!

He has the roof on and is installing the nesting boxes...see that look on his face? I can tell he is starting to like the idea of building the coop!!

I've started to paint and I think we are really going to like the colors! I will post more pic's as we get further along. It's raining this weekend so the coop will have to wait for a few days...

Great start so far! I just need to get to the "starting point". I have planned, drawn, re-designed, re-drawn but I have yet to cut the first piece of wood.

Good luck and I look forward to following your progress.

Thanks...ya, I didn't know where to begin either till I saw that old play set and my husband is pretty good with constructing things so I showed it to him and he thought it would be easier to start with that as a foundation. You will have to post some pic's when you get started, I would love to see what you come up with!!
