I am a first timer regarding chickens and have read at least a dozen chicken books over the past year getting ready for the adventure. I just finished a fairly new book (2011) titled, "A Chicken in Every Yard" by Robert & Hannah Litt. It is excellent and while I know most of you old timers are not going to buy a book for beginners, I wanted everyone to be aware of the book, so that you can recommend it to those who might be considering raising chickens.

I've been reading "Raising Chickens" By Gail Damerow, which is great for Newbies, and Old Timers. It covers EVERYTHING! I love it for when I forget something, it is laid out very nicely. I'll most def. check out the book you recommended, I need all the help I can get!
