You can barely see it, but there is some fine dust on the ground around the outside of the tent. This is where it will go if it gets built up in the screen mesh. It falls right around the tent and does not go into the air. For some reason it kind of clumps together in the screen and is too large to float in the air once it gets past the screens.

PrudentPrepper - seriously, thank you. You have saved my sanity.

I moved all of my chicks in together, bigs and littles. It's so funny because they all get along fine, with very little squabbling, but they definitely both chose a side. Littles are on the left, and bigs are on the right. I put the dog crate in the middle, not only to hang my waterer on, but also as a place of refuge if my 2 silkies, one of which is tiny (the yellow blob of fluff standing on the board in the last pic). He's about the size of a golf ball. Funny thing is, he refuses to stay in it. He does stand his ground with the bigger chicks, and gets out of the way when they're acting crazy, but I am so worried he's going to get smashed. He screams at the top of his lungs if he is separated, though. Le sigh.....

Hurry up coop! I threatened my husband with removing everything in the garage to the barn, then attaching HW cloth over the open garage doors and adding tons of wood chips and calling it good. He was not amused. He thinks I'm kidding, I guess.

Real interesting about the dust collecting. I am wondering if they will eventually cancel the National Poultry Show in OH in Nov. .

Mims- your set up looks great!
My babies spent their first night in the coop last night, so I don't get to use this method for this round of babies, but next time I will for sure!

Mims- I feel you about the stress LOL, It has been soo nice having them in the tents. Your set up looks great! Let me know how it goes. Keep the screens clean by vacuuming them with the upholstery tool every few days/twice a week. It seems that if you do it every 3 or 4 days it keeps the floor and area around the tents almost dust free. I start the vacuum far away from the chicks and progressively move it closer so as to not startle them by turning it on right next to them. They are used to it by now and don't freak out when I clean the tent with it. Good luck!

Donrae - sad to hear about the NPS it was probably a big economic boost for the community... this avian flu epidemic is starting to get me worried... I'm glad I'm getting out of the hot spot here in Kansas!
