What is the best way to candle dark eggs? I'm on day seven and just simply can't see through my EE's eggs. Now my brown eggs I can see and I think all but maybe 2 of them are growing.

I had the best luck with my old slide projector - those EE eggs are thick too- I had to help 4 of them out of their shells - but I also think that couldve been humidity issues in the middle of incubating.

I had the same problem you are having and ended up getting a small led style flash light. The best way for me to see in the eggs is to put the light on the air cell (big) end of the egg. I still can't see all the way through the eggs but i can see viens and movement, so that is good enough for me.

I have tried a lot too. What ended up working for me were two things.

1.) My husbands mini-mag flash light which I put my fingers/hands around the egg just right towards the egg air-sac and could get a pretty good idea what was going on

2.) I have one of those desk lamps that you can move the actual lamp part and it turns on by twisting the nob to turn on... Well I got some of my black card stock and cut a small hole in it about the size of a 50 cent peice. I then angle the lamp so I can hold the black card stock up over the lamp and I hold the egg over the hole. I move the egg until I can see inside.

Thanks everyone those sound like great Ideas.

I may have a family member with a mag light.
