Hi, I'm a new (5 months) chicken owner. My girls just started laying eggs, there doesn't seem to be a roo in the bunch. My eggs seem fertilized, they have the bullseye and all. OK I'm going to sound like an idiot asking but does there have to be a roo to fertilize the eggs? Do I actually have a roo after all? How does it all work with getting the eggs fertilized? Do chickens actually get it on? Lol

    Thank you :)

Yes it only is fertile if there is a rooster it would help also if you could send a picture of the egg. This is my hens fertile egg. So if your hen lays a egg like this that mean for sure you have a rooster.
or the whole flock would help determine.[IMG]

X2 however there will be a circle but it has to be a bullseye to actually show that it is fertilized, store bought ones are about 45 days old when they hit the store so you can't see the circle any more.
